About
THE FOUNDER
My Passion
Anne Thériault
For me, writing has always been a basic need, created from a willingness to communicate. After all, communication is the basis of any human relationship, whether it’s personal or professional.
I’ve often been told that I was born pen in hand. I scribbled from the moment I could hold a pen, even before I could form letters. Then, I wrote as much as I could, constantly asking my mother to dictate stories to me whenever we flew to some destination. I have been writing ever since, in both French and English.
After my studies in French and English literature, I pursued another great passion inherited from my father... air travel. After several years as a flight attendant, I had to rethink my career due to problems with my sinuses and eardrums. I ended up in jobs that gave me the freedom to write and translate and provided me with a wealth of learning experiences. After working at Les Rôtisseries St-Hubert for four years as their official translator, I started my own freelance translation company in 2015 and haven’t looked back.
Over the years, I have honed my knowledge of both languages, and I continue to improve my expertise through training courses offered by OTTIAQ, the professional corporation I am a member of, and the only body of certified language professionals in Quebec. Please feel free to read the testimonials given by some of my long-standing clients.
My Training
As a seasoned traveller, I also worked on the world’s largest sailing ship in the Mediterranean for one year at the age of 27, never imagining I would find my future husband. A few years later – with my husband and our daughter – I lived in Bermuda, Texas and Pennsylvania, before moving back to Quebec in 2010.
As a certified translator, I have since been pursuing my passion for communication through translation, revision, editing and writing.
While I can’t deny my artistic side, my rational and analytical mindset often prevails. I am known for being meticulous and highly organized. However, don’t be fooled by my seriousness at work – My sense of humour is never far behind!
